PURPOSE: A power factor correction circuit and a driving method thereof is provided to sense the short circuit of auxiliary winding by including a power factor correction controller.;CONSTITUTION: An inductor receives an input voltage and supplies an output power. A power switch is connected to the inductor and controls the current of the inductor. A secondary inductor is coupled to the inductor at a certain winding ratio. A power factor correction controller controls output power by controlling the switching operation of the power switch. A power factor compensation controller counts the access times of the maximum current of the inductor current. The power factor correction controller turns the power switch off. A under voltage lockout(110) stops the switching operation of the power switch.
