PURPOSE: A harmonic imaging apparatus of using a nonlinear chirp signal and a method thereof are provided to prevent a large size leaf due to frequency overlap by minimizing the frequency overlap of a fundamental frequency and a second harmonic component.;CONSTITUTION: In a harmonic imaging apparatus of using a nonlinear chirp signal and a method thereof, a chirp signal generator(310) generates a nonlinear chip signal. A converter(330) transmits a nonlinear chirp signal to a reflector. A band-pass filter unit(340) extract a harmonic component form the reflection signal from the reflector. An envelope detector(360) detects an envelope by using the extracted harmonic component. A display unit(370) displays the harmonic image based on the envelop.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
