PURPOSE: A mobile communication system and a method for supporting fast handover are provided to manage the handover of a mobile terminal through a cache.;CONSTITUTION: A plurality of base stations(20a~20c) updates a multicast group by updating the cache which manages themselves if the movement of a mobile terminal is sensed. At least one multicast routers(30a,30b) connects with the base stations. The multicast routers transmit multicast data to the base station. The base station which currently communicates with the mobile terminal among a plurality of base stations informs the movement of the mobile terminal to the multicast router. The base station requests the handover to a new base station in which a mobile terminal is moved.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
