PURPOSE: An engine torque control device in consideration of the friction torque of a new engine and a control method thereof are provided to compensate the performance of an engine in consideration of friction torque generated in the new engine by compensating engine torque according to engine temperature and accumulated traveling distance. CONSTITUTION: A control method of an engine torque control device in consideration of the friction torque of a new engine comprises following steps. If the condition of a new engine torque correction function is satisfied(S16), whether accumulated traveling distance is lower than correction traveling distance or not is determined. If the accumulated traveling distance is lower than the correction traveling distance, an engine torque correction value is determined(S30). If the engine is driven(S40), engine torque base value controlling the torque of the engine is corrected based on the determined engine torque correction value(S50).
