PURPOSE: A performance evaluation apparatus for an infrared thermal image camera of a nondestructive testing system and a method thereof are provided to perform performance evaluation of the camera easily by showing different temperature values from a metal plate and a coating layer. CONSTITUTION: A performance evaluation apparatus(10) for an infrared thermal image camera includes a metal plate(12) and a coating layer. The metal plate has first surface emissivity(1). The coating layer has second surface emissivity(2). The coating layer covers the surface of the metal plate. The coating layer has patterning portions(14,16,18) revealing the surface of the metal plate partly.
