A method and a system for providing a local information search result are provided to offer more useful information to a searcher by providing a search result and referring to local information when an Internet search result is provided to a searcher, and search the information related to the local information easily whenever the searcher searches the information related to the local information. A search request receiver(820) receives a search request including a local keyword, which is a keyword related to local information, from a searcher. A searcher(840) recognizes more than one search item related to the local keyword and selects a search item corresponding to search area information preset by the searcher among the recognized search items. A search result provider(850) exposes the selected search item to the searcher. The search result provider displays the selected search items to the searcher by arranging the selected search items according to a search item arrangement rule including at least one of a search count of a site related to the search item, usefulness of posted information, completeness, site name order, or user estimation.
