PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing high-purity metal compounds from tantalum ores using a hydrometallurgical process is provided to ensure an environmentally-friendly process by reducing the amount of hydrofluoric acid used for leaching. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing high-purity metal compounds from tantalum ores using a hydrometallurgical process is as follows. Tantalum ores are crushed and selected. The selected powder is leached and the leachate and residue are separated. Tantalum and niobium of the leachate are extracted with a first extraction solvent. Tantalum and niobium are precipitated and dissolved again using acid. A second extraction solvent containing tantalum and the residual solution containing niobium are separated using kerosene.
