PURPOSE: A method for changing the magnetism of clathrate hydrate is provided to obtain the diamagnetic or ferromagnetic clathrate hydrate by inducing the conversion of the magnetic susceptibility. CONSTITUTION: Oxygen molecules are selectively injected into small holes or large holes of a clathrate hydrate structure at 213K. The oxygen molecules and clathrate hydrate are reacted for 24 hours. The change of the magnetic susceptibility is induced. Tetrahydrofuran is occupied in the entire of large holes, and oxygen molecules are partially occupied in the small holes. The magnetism of the clathrate hydrate is converted to ferromagnetism. If the occupy oxygen molecules are occupied in the large hole and the small holes of the clathrate hydrate. The magnetism of the clathrate hydrate is converted to diamagnetism.
