APPARATUS FOR GENERATING SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE CAPABLE OF REPLACING CHLORINE-BASED STERILIZATION FOR STERILIZING WATER SUPPLY AND DRAINAGE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating sodium hypochlorite is provided to save cost required for maintenance and reducing the amount of chlorate which is the byproduct of a sterilizing process.;CONSTITUTION: Raw water is pre-treated to obtain deionized water in a pre-treating unit(10). The pre-treated deionized water is introduced into a salt storing bath(20) and a saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution is generated. A membrane electrolytic cell(30) includes an anode chamber, a cathode chamber, and an ion-exchanging membrane. The saturated sodium chloride aqueous solution is introduced into the anode chamber. The pre-treated deionized water is introduced into the cathode chamber. The ion-exchanging membrane defines the anode chamber and the cathode chamber. Chlorine gas and anodic water are generated from the electrolysis reaction of the anode chamber.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
