The present invention relates to iron oxide / manganese oxide hybrid nanoparticles having a T1 and T2 double contrast action and a method for preparing the same. The dumbbell-type iron oxide / manganese oxide hybrid nanoparticles can enhance cancer signals in blood vessels and liver in T2-weighted MRI, while simultaneously enhancing light signals in brain and kidney in T1-weighted MRI. Thus, for both T1 and T2 weighted bioimaging, it can be used as an MRI contrast agent capable of inducing organ specific contrast enhancement.;Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nanoparticles, Double Contrast, T1 Contrast, T2 Contrast
