FIELD: printing.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of program-controlled production of covers for some books and small editions with variable format sizes. Data about the book which is required to put in boards in the desired format are obtained and entered into the software, and then are entered in the catalog. Individual elements of the book cover are cut to appropriate size. Alignment for cut is chosen through the appropriate adjustment of cutting blades arranged in pairs. Further the bound covering materials adapted to the format of the books covers and inserts of the book backs are covered with adhesive. The covering material with an applied layer of adhesive is fixed to its outer side, moved and fold on the cardboard sheets and the machine cardboard. Individual elements of the book cover are together sucked in up and moved to the device of bending angles. Then, on the covers of the books a flyleaf is applied, at that the flyleaf is cut according to the given size in the form of a connection between the text block and the cover of the book and applied by thermal bonding, and as the entire block is accurately placed on the cover of the book and simultaneously the seam of binding coating material is formed. And finally an empty space is formed in the direction of the insert of the book backs to compensate the stresses arising between the text block and cover.;EFFECT: method enables to produce individual books and small editions with minimal personnel requirements and required time, as well as with a low cost of their manufacture.;12 cl, 2 dwg
