FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a concentration-lowering sampling apparatus designed to collect a gas sample from a sample space, having temperature which is essentially higher than normal temperature, and a method of collecting samples form the said sample space. The sampling apparatus has a sampling pipe, having a first end through which the stream of the sample enters the said pipe, and a second end. The sampling apparatus has a diluting apparatus designed to receive the stream of the sample from the second end of the sampling pipe and for dilute the sample. The diluting apparatus has a tubular gas-permeable first jacket which forms a sample channel, in which the second end of the sampling pipe enters, and a tubular gas-permeable second jacket around the first jacket, which forms between itself and the first jacket a space for diluted gas fed through the first jacket into the sample channel. The second jacket is joined by its end lying on the side of the sampling pipe to the sampling pipe in a first joining position. The outer diametre of the second end of the sampling pipe is smaller than the inner diametre of the first jacket, and the second end of the sampling pipe protrudes into the first jacket by a second distance from the first joining position, while facilitating direction of the diluted gas with formation of an essentially laminar protective stream lying longitudinally relative the sample channel and the surrounding stream of the sample. The method involves collecting the stream of the sample into the sampling pipe, directing the stream of the sample from the said sampling pipe to the sample channel formed by the first gas-permeable jacket. The diluted gas is then fed into the space for diluted gas formed by the second jacket surrounding the first jacket and joined by its end to the sampling pipe, and then from that space through the first jacket into the sample channel. Further, heat is transferred from the sample space to the space for diluted gas in order to heat the diluted gas which is in contact with the sampling pipe. The heated diluted gas creates an essentially laminar protective stream surrounding the stream of the sample coming from the sampling pipe into the sample channel, and lying longitudinally relative the sample channel.;EFFECT: efficient prevention of loss of sample material.;10 cl, 4 dwg
