FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: device has a transparent tube, one of the ends of which is closed by a plug with a sound source inside. There is a piston inside the tube, having a through channel, through which medium can be pumped from the tube. When conducting experiments, the piston is moved along the tube, thereby changing the distance from the sound source to the sound-reflecting surface. Disclosed also is a second version of the device, according to which the sound source is placed on the piston which moves along the axis of the tube. In that case, air is pumped from the tube through the plug which lies opposite the piston and closes the end of the tube.;EFFECT: broader demonstrational capabilities of the device which has a simple design and is easy to use.;8 cl, 2 dwg
