FIELD: oil and gas production.;SUBSTANCE: procedure for cleaning gases containing carbon monoxide from impurities of iron pentacarbonyl consists in passing gas through sorbent containing potassium hydroxide. Sorbent is used in a granulated form and additionally contains inert filler uniformly mixed with potassium hydroxide; also, sorbent components have proportional particles of granules. Before cleaned gas passing through sorbent is vacuumised and filled with inert gas. Components of sorbent have proportional average sizes of particles within the ranges 50-500 mcm, while contents of potassium hydroxide in mixture is within the range 25-75 %. Rate of cleaned gas passing through sorbent is maintained as high as 10 000 h-1.;EFFECT: upgraded degree of cleaning gases containing carbon monoxide from impurities of iron pentacarbonyl; raised sorption capacity of sorbent; prevention of impurities intrusion into clean gas occurring at preparation, at activation of sorbent or in process of operation.;5 cl, 1 tbl, 8 ex
