FIELD: oil and gas production.;SUBSTANCE: there are recorded gas flows in cryolite zone and low temperature rock at drilling borehole of well. After performing standard logging the well is shifted to an idle mode. When shut down of the well is ended, there is performed thermometry of its borehole. By data of thermometry there is selected zero isotherm corresponding to position of a bottom of the cryolite zone and isotherm corresponding to value of temperature of beginning of permafrost rock thawing in section of cryolite zone. There is chosen a region under isotherm of beginning of permafrost rock thawing in cross-section of cryolite zone as a region of bed of gas-hydrate rock in cryolite zone and low temperature rock located beneath it at recording gas flow. Also, the chosen region is characterised with values of apparent electric resistance equal to not less 20 Ohm m and with a value of bed pressure equal to not less, than values of pressure of formation of stable gas-hydrate rock corresponding to temperature of beginning of permafrost rock thawing.;EFFECT: raised efficiency of discovery of gas hydrate rock.;3 cl, 1 dwg
