The clamping device (K) has two clamping elements (KE) including clamping jaws. A housing (1) includes shell elements (2, 3) within which the clamping elements are arranged, where the shell elements are made of plastic. Two of the clamping jaws arranged in one of the shell elements correspond with the other clamping jaws attached to the other shell element. The jaws are arranged such that a rod (S) and a rod-shaped article (G) are aligned perpendicular to each other. A fastener (4) connects the shell elements. Adapter elements for the jaws reduces diameter of the rod.
