The apparatus has a sealable container (1) for placing a device under test (8) i.e. water-proof watch, where the container and a cylinder (3) are connected with one another via a pressure line (6) and a digital manometer (7). The sealable container, the pressure line and the cylinder form a closed volume. The volume is changed by movement of a piston rod (5) of a piston (4), where pressure change specific for a leak-proof device under test or another pressure change for a leaky device under test is produced. The latter pressure change differs from the former pressure change.
