An inventive device is suitable for fitting to existing wood furnaces as well as a component newly manufactured wood furnaces. Such wood furnaces have a combustion chamber (2) or focal point to at which to burn the wood fire, and an air supply (4) in the combustion chamber and a gas discharge line (5, 7, 8), which comes with aa fireplace (8) and often a in this opening out stovepipe (7). The inventive device is essentially characterized by the fact that it comprises an outside of the gas discharge pipe (5, 7, 8) arranged gas feed means (11), which ambient air via an air supply pipe (12, 13, 14, 15) to the gas discharge line (5, 7, 8) supports, in such a way that at the mouth of the air supply line to the gas removal line (5, 7, 8) the air flow is parallel to the direction of flow of the combustion gases component. The air supply line (12, 13, 14, 15) has at least in the region of the orifice in the gas discharge line a significantly smaller cross sectional area than the gas discharge line.
