The present invention relates to a plant for the production of petrified wood, charcoal, wood tar, wood vinegar and synthesis gas from a variety of organic raw materials such as stems, straw and other biogenic wastes in granular, pelletized or pitted form. A feeder (2) allows the introduction of hot exhaust gases from furnaces or internal combustion engines through the raw material, and three burners (3) equipped with individually adjustable air supply, allowed a flexible process control of the pyrolysis. The apparatus may be operated in single-batch or continuous mode and has a raw material supply (2), a funnel-shaped pyrolysis vessel (1) mounted on a cylindrical base with a central chimney (7) and an outer cylinder for the purpose of passing the syngas downwards and on the outside of the pyrolysis vessel (1) and the collection of condensable liquids by means of a cooling jacket (4). The central chimney (7) receives the hot exhaust gases and / or the remaining syngas and directs them to the chimney outlet for further use.
