The reinforcement mat (11) has carbon fibers running in a distinguished direction, which form a fabric, a core or a knitted fabric with polyester or glass fibers. The polyester- or glass fibers run in one or multiple directions. The fabric, core or knitted fabric has a mesh size of 10 millimeter. The carbon fibers have extension elasticity modulus of more than 200 Giga Pascal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for installation of a reinforcement mat; and (2) a reinforced mortar coating.
