The device has a filter module supported in a cylindrical cabinet (1) between an inlet chamber and an exhaust chamber. The inlet chamber is provided with an inlet port to intake of particle-containing exhaust gases, and the exhaust chamber is provided with an exhaust port for exhaust of filtered exhaust gases. The cabinet has a weld socket (7) with an access port discharging into the inlet chamber. A burner (9) is controlled by a control unit (33) and is provided with a nozzle that is insertable into the access port of the weld socket. A fastening device fastens the burner at the weld socket.
