The device has two brushes arranged against each other in order to hold forces transferred by bristles (5) to a glass in equilibrium. The brushes are fastened on two brush carriers such that distance between the brushes is changed to each other. Ends of the brush carriers are flexibly or rotatably connected with one another by an additional connecting piece, where the ends face toward the brushes. The bristles are made from plastic, where length of each bristle lies between 2 and 20 mm. Cleaning fluid i.e. running water, is utilized for cleaning purpose. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning an eyeglass lens.
