The catch (1) has a carrier element (2) connected with a wagon body assembly (3) of a vehicle. A safety element (4) i.e. clamp, is connected to the carrier element by coupling points (5a, 5b) in an articulated manner. The safety element is tilted around a vertical axis (V) in an inactive position. A rod-shaped retaining element (7) is connected with the wagon body assembly and arranged at a distance from the coupling points transverse to a driving direction. The retaining element forms a horizontal stopper for the safety element in an active position.
