The transparent or translucent sound absorbing plate-shaped element (1) has one and another sound absorbing covering layer (10,20) and an internal bearing core (30), where the core has a corrugated web profile (31). Multiple air channels (33,34) are defined and designed or arranged in interior side of a plate such that both sound absorbing surfaces stay in communicating connection with each other. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing sound absorbing plate-shaped elements; and (2) a wall element for a noise barrier.
