The invention discloses a method for implementing the short message service in a mobile intelligent network . The intelligent network system comprises at least a service control function (gsmSFC) entity and a service switching function (SSF) entity, which is the connecting point between the intelligent network system and the mobile communication network system. When the SSF detects there being a request for the short message service, it reports the request to the gsmSCF. Then the gsmSCF searches the database for determining whether the user which the destination address of the short message corresponds has the request of the short message forwarding. If not, the short message is sent to the destination mobile station by the gsmSFC; otherwise, at the receipt side, the gsmSFC starts a logic of the short message forwarding service, which has an influence upon the SSF call processing, so as to forward the short message, which is sent to the mobile station, to the other mobile station or information carrier. The invention can enhance the flexibility of the short message service, convenience the subscriber of the mobile communication, as well as make the telecommunication operator have more traffic, so as to increase the economic benefit.
