The fixing element has a flexible ring (3), a control element (1) arranged within the ring and movable along a symmetry axis of the ring between a starting position and a fixing position and power train element (2A). The control element connects power train element with the ring in such a manner that it exercises the ring stretching thrust force from the inner side with a movement of the control element from starting position to fixing position on the ring. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing an article relative to another article with the help of a fixing element.
