The device has a plastic bag exhibiting two opposite flat sides (10), and a closure e.g. slide fastener and pressure closure (12), provided with an opening that is closed for introduction of a barbecue grill in a liquid-tight manner. A ventilation opening (16) is closed independent of the opening and arranged at the flat sides of the plastic bag. The flat sides are strengthened by ribs (14). The closure extends over entire width of the plastic bag. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a barbecue grill.
