The pellet burner (1) has a reservoir (2), a burner housing (13), a burner grill (14) and a control unit. A dosing unit (4) is arranged in front of the burner housing. The dosing unit consists of two separate dosing devices (5,6) which are rotatably arranged around a common rotational axis in a mutually independent manner. The pellets pass from the reservoir into the dosing devices. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a dosing unit of a pellet burner.
