The box (1) has an electronic component arranged in a protection box interior space (5), and a phase change material (6) arranged in the protection box-interior space. The phase change material changes an aggregate state of an electronic measuring instrument (8) during exceedance of defined interior space temperature. The material receives heat from the protection box interior space. The interior space temperature and/or component temperature does not exceed a predetermined maximum temperature value. The material is held in the interior space in a replaceable manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for regulating component temperature and/or interior space temperature in an instrument protection box accommodating an electronic device i.e. electronic measuring instrument.
