The device (B) has an LED field (1) formed by lines (1.1, 1.2) of LEDs that are linearly arranged next to each other. An optical field (2) is arranged in an optical path of light emitted by the LEDs, and a set of optical imaging elements (6.1, 6.2) is attached to the LEDs, where the imaging elements exhibit different optical imaging characteristics. One of the lines is an upper line of the LED field. Distances of the LEDs in the line and/or in the other line of the LED field are larger in an end area of the lines than in a middle area of the lines.
