The device (1) has a shielding component (2) for thermal shielding of a motor (3) or a motor component (4), and a heat exchanger (8) e.g. matrix heat exchanger, heat conductively connected with a shielding layer (5) and including a cavity (6) for liquid medium (7) e.g. water. The liquid medium is converted to hot, tensioned process gas (9) i.e. steam, in the heat exchanger, and the process gas is supplied to a transducer (W) for transformation into mechanical, electrical or hydraulic energy. The transducer is designed as a motor (10) or a turbine with a generator (15). The heat exchanger is designed as a shell-heat exchanger or a tube-heat exchanger.
