The code disk (11) has a circular scan area (12), in which a scale is formed by spiral and parallel bars (13). The spiral bars of the scale are formed such that the bars cut an imaginary straight line (14). The tangents (16), bordered on the spiral bars in intersections (15), run perpendicular to the imaginary straight line and parallel to one another. An independent claim is also included for an encoder, particularly optical encoder and inductive encoder.
