The arrangement for carrying out form-technical joining process, comprises a tool holder (17) with a tool suited for joining process, and two pneumatic compensating drives (110), where the tool is changeable in its position relative to a workpiece by the first drive realized as compensating drive for the tool holder and by the second drive as main hoist drive for the tool holder. An electro motor (12) and a compressed air producing means (11) are arranged directly on the arrangement, where the compressed air producing means is formed and is connected with the electromotor. The arrangement for carrying out form-technical joining process, comprises a tool holder (17) with a tool suited for joining process, and two pneumatic compensating drives (110), where the tool is changeable in its position relative to a workpiece by the first drive realized as compensating drive for the tool holder and by the second drive as main hoist drive for the tool holder. An electro motor (12) and a compressed air producing means (11) are arranged directly on the arrangement, where the compressed air producing means is formed and is connected with the electromotor in such a way that it is driven by the electromotor. The compressed air producing means is connected with the compensating drive for supplying compressed air. An electro-pneumatic pressure control valve (111) is arranged between the compressed air producing means and the compensation drive. A control and/or regulator is provided for realizing the joining process and/or the compensating movement of the tool holder. The tool holder is formed as welding tong and the joining process is a resistance welding process or clinching, punch riveting, handling, stamping, screwing or pressing. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an arrangement for carrying out form-technical joining process.
