The shaft (100) has a rod-shaped shaft body (10) connected with a compressor (60) of an exhaust-gas turbocharger (200) at an end (10a) and with a turbine (50) of the turbocharger at another end (10b). A radial magnetic bearing (30) includes solenoids (31) that are radially spaced around the shaft body to contact-lessly mount the body. A heat pipe is provided in interior of the body, where a longitudinal axis of the pipe coincides with a longitudinal axis of the body. The pipe consists of an operating medium that is selected from a group consisting of mercury, cesium, sodium and potassium.
