The device has a motor (3) for automating drive of a movement assembly i.e. rotatable assembly (1), and a digital camera for visually detecting an object. The camera is arranged in a cover and on the movement assembly. The object is arranged on the movement assembly for detecting the camera. The rotatable disk and a pivot mounting part are provided in a rotating axis, and an object receiving space is formed on the rotatable disk. A camera receiving place is arranged on the pivot mounting part for receiving the camera, and a storage module stores captured images and/or video. An independent claim is also included for a method for visually detecting an object.
