The head rest has a base (1) which is fixed on a support pad or at a fixture. The base has a head bearing surface (2) that is connected with the base for realizing an adjustable inclination angle over a hinged connection. A force element is arranged underneath the head bearing surface, particularly between the base and the head bearing surface. An independent claim is also included for a bed pad with a body support.
