The appliance (10) has an openable front wall (20) that is actuated from a closed position to open position by an opening mechanism (30). A front side (21) of the front wall is provided in a gripless manner. A handle unit (26) is provided at a side edge among multiple side edges (22, 23, 24) of the front wall and accessed in the open position. An operating device (40) e.g. proximity sensor, for the opening mechanism is arranged at the front side of the front wall. The front wall is designed as front wall of a withdrawable drawer. The operating device is selected from a group consisting of contact sensors or switches.
