The channel system comprises inlets and outlets for a cooling medium. The inlets are provided at one of the cooling channels, and the outlets are provided at the other cooling channel. The cooling channels are partially provided in an axial piston direction at different levels. The channels exhibit different circumferential lengths. The inner cooling channel is provided in an area of a combustion chamber base.
