The system (1) has an electromechanical exciter arrangement for proportionally converting electrical excitation power to torsional vibrations of two measuring tubes (18-1, 18-2). A middle tube segment of one of the measuring tube executes rotational vibrations around a torsional vibration axis, and a middle tube segment of the other measuring tube executes rotational vibrations around another torsional vibration axis and/or the measuring tubes execute diametrically opposed torsional vibrations in a torsional vibration fundamental mode consisting of a single loop.
