The element is designed such that an intermediate space (3) is formed between a load-bearing slab (1) and another slab (2), where the slab is mounted parallel to the load-bearing slab. The slabs are formed from concrete. The slabs are made gas-tight and the intermediate space is bounded by a peripheral seal. A spacer is provided in the intermediate space to support the slab against the load-bearing slab. The seal includes a circumferential intermediate space wall (4) produced from gas-tight concrete or composite material. The element is constructed as a prefabricated element.
