The device has a housing for retaining electronic circuits of the device and including a cup-shaped housing cover (6), which is provided with a recess (9). A flexible plastic molded part (2) is provided for retaining a viewing window insert (1), which fills a free space between an inner side of the housing cover and an edge (8) of the viewing window insert. A fastening unit (3) is provided such that the viewing window insert is pressed against the edge and the plastic molded part is pressed into the free space.
