A rotary drum heat exchanger comprises a rotating drum (2) exchanging in a liquid bath (5) and contains granular material. A casing (6) of drum is provided with multiple heat exchangers (14) protruded into the inner chamber (7) of the drum. The heat exchangers are open from outer chamber of the drum, where the drum has a polygonal drum profile in the cross section (10). The heat exchangers with open ends are placed in a casing opening in the drum casing. The casing opening traverses a longitudinal edge of the polygonal drum section.
