The holder (10) has a shaft retainer (12) connected with a drive shaft (14) of a drive spindle (16), and a tool retainer (20) retaining a tool (22) i.e. grinding disk. An actuator (26) moves the tool retainer relative to the shaft retainer. An actuator support (34) is connected with a spindle stock (36) of the drive spindle such that the actuator rests relative to the spindle stock when the shaft retainer rotates relative to the spindle stock. The actuator shifts a tool retainer-longitudinal axis (A20) relative to a shaft retainer-longitudinal axis (A12). An independent claim is also included for a machine tool comprising a tool holder.
