The method involves opening an electrically actuated switching point (SST) for currentless switching of a three-phase alternating current motor (M). The electrically actuated switch is switched off by a non-controlled phase of the three-phase alternating current motor. The non-controlled phase is switched off by opening the switching point during a disconnected state of a two-phase controlled soft start control. An independent claim is also included for a circuit arrangement for operating a three-phase alternating current motor.
