The method involves providing a joining opening (12) at a stamper side with a chamfer (15) before joining a press-fit element (20) e.g. sleeve. The length of a joining section (23) of the press-fit element is made to correspond to the largest thickness of a component (10) within an area of the joining opening. An end of a stamper cooperating with the joining section is formed as a ball layer with a ball zone for pressing the joining section by lowering in the joining opening and for pressing a front surface (24) of the joining section in the chamfer of the joining opening.
