The cartridge has a star-shaped folded filtering medium (3) provided between two end caps (1, 2). Fold points (4) of the filtering medium project in a radial direction. The filtering medium is formed by non-woven fabric, which exhibits elementary fibers of a splittable multi-component fiber, where the elementary fibers are arranged as split continuous fibers and produced from bicomponent fibers. The elementary fibers are manufactured from polyester and polyamide. The filtering medium is stabilized in a folded supporting position, which intervenes in folds of the medium.
