The device has one or more photovoltaic modules (3), which are inclined opposite to the horizontals. A cooling medium is drained off for cooling at the irradiation side (4) of the photovoltaic modules. The liquid cooling medium is guided into an open circuit. The rain water is used as liquid cooling medium primarily. The rain water is absorbed and is guided to a stationary central collection reservoir (9) by the opposite photo voltaic modules inclined horizontally.
