The plate (1) has a coating (4) made of a hardening plastic and exhibiting middle thickness of 1 to 5 mm. Recesses (5'') are formed in a wood or plastic plate (10) with width of 5 to 30 mm and depth of 2 to 30 mm. The recesses and through-holes (11) are filled with a hardening plastic. Hardwood or plastic filling (9) is provided in oblong holes that are formed with depth of 2 to 10 cm and width of 20 to 30 mm at a front side of the plate. The coating comprises a natural fiber mat or fillers such as saw dust, natural fibers and/or inorganic particles. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a base plate.
