The arrangement has a contact system arranged in a switchgear e.g. limiter, and exhibiting a contact point (11) with contact pieces moved relative to each other. The contact pieces contact each other in a position and form an electrically conductive contact and are spaced at a distance from each other in another position. Solenoid coils (4) of the pieces are wound such that short-circuit current is guided through the coils during flow of the current in a power line to move the pieces from the former position into the latter position based on electromagnetic force (FE).
