Described is the use of polyoxymethylene di (alkylpolyglycol) ethers of the general formula RO (CHCHO) (CHO) (CHCHO) R, wherein R is an alkyl radical, n ≰ 3 and m ≰ 6, as an additive to diesel fuels to reduce soot emissions in compression ignition engines.
